Heal My Soul!

(Mark 2: 1 to 5 – A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. ² They gathered in such large number that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. ³ Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. ⁴ Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. ⁵ When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”)

(Mark 2: 11 & 12 – ¹¹ “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” ¹² He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”)

May be Jesus is already in the house and we would be hearing and knowing a lot about Him daily. Yet, we are unable to go near Him or feel His presence. This is because our soul is in a bedridden condition, there can be various reasons for this. It may be due to anger, depression, guilt, addiction, worthlessness, anxiety, fear or the worst of all – being deceived by the very own self that – “No Need, All is Well”

But this is the time when God wants our “FAITH IN ACTION”. This is when Jesus wants us to do the most unusual and weird thing.“The Roof to be removed”. We need to break off the roof of our ego, negative attitude, the mask or the Schrodinger smile we are wearing and bring ourselves down to His feet. Sometimes we have to blow the roof off the way things were always done and think in new ways. Few tips and tricks from google cannot get us out of that bed of weakness, self-pity, and worthlessness. After-all only the manufacturer knows the best way to rectify the glitch of his product. We may get some temporary solutions from local shops but we all know it doesn’t last for long.

(Mathew 11: 28 – Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.)

He didn’t mention that he will take that burden away or lessen it, didn’t even say that he will give special strength to carry that burden. He is saying – “Come to me!” So we need to just go to His embrace and stop worrying about the situation or the burden we are carrying. He will do whatever needs to be done with that burden : decrease, increase, carry it for you or just eliminate it. His solution is for US not for OUR burden. So let’s don’t even try to advise Him what He can possibly do with our burden. We have already tried our level best and failed. Let’s surrender our-self to Him, our distorted self, our ever demanding and exalting self along with our burden and the whole situation.

He is the best doctor and He does the most unique treatment; First He will heal the soul for an eternal life and then the body and the mind to fulfill this earthly life.
