Sound of the Rain!

Today the rain sounds similar,

To the one I heard long back

It fell heavily and easily,

With no meaning or intention

Still, I love the sound of the rain

Sound of a billion drops

Falling together with one accord

Inside the walls am dry and warm,

But the sound makes me feel soaked

Still, I love the sound of the rain

Sound which I can never forget

To my laughter & naughtiness

A scared whisper, “Do not laugh darling!

Don’t you see the dark clouds coming?”

Still, I love the sound of the rain

Today the rain mentioned your name

The voice of the sweet memories

The voice from long, long ago

A promise that you will always be with me

Still, I love the sound of the rain

But, today I miss your lap the most

Your warm & cozy embrace

A comforting whisper, “Do not cry darling!

Don’t you see the rain stopped and dark clouds moving away?

Oh grandma! You were my happy place!
